Been doing business with them for a…

Been doing business with them for a while and things have slowly gotten worse. My order was held up by a change on my credit card which should have been caught at the time of the order. So I get a email informing me my card was declined. So instead of calling me they just gave one of my items to another customer. So I call right away to fix the problem and the person said it went through. So I’m waiting for a confirmation email which I never received. so I call and give my card info again and asked for a confirmation email and still none. Then I’m informed that the item they gave to another is out of stock. And now I’m still put waiting for a shipping confirmation. Ordered Monday fixed Tuesday and was told Tuesday I would get next day shipping and it’s now Friday afternoon and still nothing.

Quick shipping and price below market with coupon

Contrary to many negative reviews about this seller, the transaction went surprisingly smooth with quick shipping and cheapest price I could find with coupons.

I ordered rotors for my new wheels

I ordered rotors for my new wheels. The price was few dollars cheaper than Amazon and 2 days later they showed up in my house. Jon was extremely helpful. This was my first time buying from this place and I had a really positive experience.

Great price & service for phone ordered wheel set

I ordered a set of Shimano Dura Ace C24 CSR9100 wheel set over the phone. Was given a really nice price and was told that it should arrive in about a week which it did. Extremely happy!

Ego will make them file for bankruptcy at the next market crash (soon)

I placed an order that was confirmed and paid. Then 3.5 days later they cancelled it without any explanation, just a rude email "We canceled your order". They never tried to call me, email me, or anything. I don't care about the price of the order but I do care about wasting my time and not even being provided justification for this waste. It's just insulting.
I called them, wasted another 10-15 minutes for them to pick up the phone, and finally had an explanation: Their fraud team estimated that my order was fraudulent... Why? I have no idea, they didn't say and didn't even try to ask me to justify anything.
I think a lot of independent stores get overly comfortable over time, especially after a high year of 2020 in bike sales (which is just a temporarily spike as a reaction of COVID19, before the inevitable decline next year) and the more comfortable they get the less they respect customers. This is how Amazon keeps growing and these stores end up filing for bankruptcy at the first market crash. At the core it's about ego, on the long run their ego will make them broke.
At the end of the day, if you still want to be around after the next crash you have to respect your customers. When I shop on Amazon it's one click, pain-free, no fraud BS from small thinking, and their level of customer service is making Competitive Cyclist and others completely noncompetitive. They will say it was monopoly that killed them but that's a lie, it's how customers are treated.
Just like more and more shoppers, I decided I will only order on Amazon from now on. I'm tired of these disrespectful and entitled independent stores. Is basic respect too much to ask?

Most work And frustration I’ve ever had to spend 4,000.

Placed order in September paid in full; checked on bike in October and found out the money was taken but my order never was placed. Started process over again and over three days of going back and forth was able to get a bike built from a frame that they had in, I ordered silver and they only had an orange in (it’s grown on me, but still not what I originally ordered). They gave me a break on some parts but it still ended up costing me 600 more than I was going to spend, because there were no parts left that would fit at my original paid price point. Took me talking to 4 guys during the process, you basically get handed off each time you call back. This is the first time I have bought a complete bike in 20 years I usually build my own. case in point: missing crank cap (backs out crank), dropper post cable cut 4 inches too short (they asked my height) front hexel and cassette bolt waaayyyyy over torqued. Brakes too soft will need to rebleed real soon. Last time I’ll let these guys build a bike for me. Overall major pain to deal with. Buying a bike should be fun especially when you are dropping some serious coin.

Frameset came with a scatch and they ignored any followup emails.

Bought a frameset that came with a scratch near the bottle cage holder spot in the down tube. Asked about it, sent picture evidence and was told that a staff would follow up. Two and a half weeks later, feathers, no reply to the 2 follow up emails, nothing. Disappointed. They just couldn't care less.

Don’t buy from here

Had a product shipped from Competitive Cyclist and about a month later received an email saying my product has been returned and I was being refunded. 4 emails and several phone calls was never able to get a response from the company. Brutal. All I wanted was my product ? Cost like 40 bucks to ship my product and was never refunded with my product. Thanks Competitive Cyclist you guys suck, never ordering from them again and neither should you. Much better options out there

Clearly got a defective product from them. They won’t help at all. Told me tough luck. The brand they sell would easily accept this as a defect, they just don’t want to work.

Very satisfied customer

My son ordered a rotor -6 bolt in October . Although the tracking number indicated the item had been delivered to the shipper they were unable to locate it.
I spoke to a very kind and helpful young man called Jackson who sent me the missing item at no charge with expedited shipping.
Great service .

I ordered a thule rack which was…

I ordered a thule rack which was damaged. They sent a replacement which was defective. I contacted customer service by chat and email multiple times and never received a reply. If you are going to order from this company you are taking because they won't contact you if you have an issue
